SUMMER BUCKET LIST
It was another dreadful afternoon in 5th period chemistry when I was awakened with the news that there was only 8 weeks of the school year left. In my mind, that was a complete moment of SUMMERRRRR. OH MY GOD. SUMMER IS HEREEE. NO SCHOOL. I basically took a short rocket trip up to the "don't worry, be happy" planet and right back down to earth again... crashing the landing with a sad remembrance of grades (oh god), and finals (no no not again), and 8 weeks more of late homework nights, with too early of mornings (sigh). I've proudly self diagnosed myself as an insomniac due to the countless nights of no sleep and the overall ability of forgetting what good sleep even feels like. But it's okay, makes the morning coffee taste even better. Not only did the 8 week alert allow me to remember how much I really really need to pull myself together, (LIKE NOW)...I also came across the realization that summer is actually so. so. soon. Which then lead me to wonder about all the crazy & fun things I want to do. Like swinging in the trees with the monkeys of Costa Rica, driving a race car, and chasing a tornado. Yes, I still hopelessly dream about my real life Dorothy Gale moment. And yes again, I really wish I was that daring to venture through such things. But on a more practical note, I dreamed up my own Maddy style version of a crazy and fun summer 17 bucket list.
Here's the catch about a bucket list: 1. They are VERY hard to follow through with. 2. they are VERY easy to forget about. So I've challenged myself to complete at least half of this list by the end of summer. (And I most definitely need bucket list buddies - so if anyone wants to adventure, I'm you're person.) I have so many ideas, and so many exciting escapes that I cannot wait to endure on. Dreaming and wondering about it all thrills me with excitement and high hopes. So many new memories, so many new moments to savor. I just have this overwhelming feeling that this summer will be a good one. Maybe even the best one.
